Avocado basics
Hass avocados are in season in New Zealand from July to March. From March to May, we also offer Reed avocados while stocks last, so you never have to go without avo!
The best time to buy is during the Hass season (July to March) when avocados are fresh and at their peak flavor. We guarantee freshness as we never cool store our fruit.
All avocados we sell are grown locally in NZ, mainly in the sunny Bay of Plenty region.
Unripe avocados are less prone to bruising during transit. They’ll safely ripen in your home, giving you control over when they’re ready to eat.
Use the date picked stamp on your box and follow the ripening tips provided inside. Check our ripening chart for guidance based on the season.
Yes! Freeze ripe avocados halved, diced, or mashed with a splash of lemon juice. They’ll last up to 4-6 months and are perfect for smoothies.
Reeds are the largest avo variety with buttery texture and bold flavor. Unlike Hass, they stay green when ripe. Reeds are available from March to June.
Sizing & packaging
We offer Mini, Medium, Large, and Jumbo sizes for Hass and Reed avocados. Exact weight ranges are listed on product details to help you choose.
Our boxes are 100% biodegradable or recyclable. Inside, Purewood wood wool protects the fruit during delivery.
Hass is smaller with a nutty flavor and changes color when ripe, while Reed is larger, round, and boasts a rich buttery taste, staying green when ripe.
Ordering & delivery
We carefully nestle avocados in wood wool packaging and ship them with NZ Post to ensure safe delivery.
For North Island, expect next-day delivery. For South Island, it typically takes two working days, and rural areas up to three days.
Shipping begins at $3.25 for North Island and $6.99 for South Island addresses. Rural addresses have additional fees calculated at checkout.
Absolutely. You’ll receive an NZ Post tracking number once your order ships.
